Subject: Re: [Dstar] Analogue output
Hello All,
who responded to my email re "is there an analogue output"
on the D-star repeater. Along with the emails I have done
some research on the Internet and there is no analogue
output not even a monitor speaker output.
As said digital in digital out. This is one of the big advantages
of D-star in that the audio is not decoded and then recoded
with the result of a degrading of the audio. Analogue repeaters
suffer from this and after the audio is linked to another
repeater there is a degrading of the audio. Digital of course
overcomes most of this.
My reason for asking was the thought of putting an analogue
TX output on the D-star repeater (one way only) so those
without D-star (most) equipment can at least listen in to
this excitting new technology.
The only way it can be done is a D-star RX into an FM TX.
