Not between D-STAR and IRLP/Echolink on a large scale. From what I
understand, there are a number of technical issues involved, because
D-STAR has a lot more routing functionality, which would be difficult
to duplicate on the IRLP/Echolink side, especially on the end user RF
channels. However, it would be handy to be able to connect to one or
more of the major IRLP/Echolink shared conferences for
interoperability purposes. The link won't be as transparent as it is
between IRLP and Echolink, due to the fact that the audio will need
to be transcoded between AMBE and GSM (shared facilities use GSM),
but this would be a useful facility to have.

That would be useful indeed.

I figured as much, but no harm in asking. :)

OK, guess I'll have to get yet ANOTHER GPS LOL. Got a serial GPS for
the car, but it's not as suitable for the bike.
