Gidday Dstar readers,

Greetings from tropical paradise, Townsville.....................

Subsequent to receiving, reading and digesting the message content of "Dstar Digest, Vol 2, Issue 12" basically referring to the ACMA ruling that Foundation licence holders are not permitted usage of Dstar [digital voice mode], I personally suggest thumbs down to ACMA and thumbs up to WIA for their endeavours to convince ACMA to allow Foundation licence holders access to digital voice mode.

I guess my next move is to reluctantly UNSUBSCRIBE from receiving future Dstar Digests as reading about hobby technology that you cannot participate in at Foundation licence level only tends to assist in getting ones 'knickers in a knot'. hi hi

When first reading about Dstar via the first Dstar Digest mentions and the two [2] page centre spread in AMATEUR RADIO Volume 75 Number 10 October 2007, I thought to myself 'you little ripper', here is a mode I can eventually set up for and enjoy, even with my profound hearing loss. [The AR article on Dstar <> Application 1 <> VOICE IS CRISP AND CLEAR]

Thanks WIA... I have had a long term saying which is; 'you never knock a trier'

Cheers 73

PS

And YES! I am capable of programming and using the most complicated of Mobile Telephones!
