You're a bit behind on the discussion. Pat was operating under the
supervision of an Advanced licensee. Provided there was at least
voice identification using the Advanced licensee's callsign, then it
becomes an issue of semantics, as to whether the D-STAR header has to
match the callsign being given via voice, or whether under some
circumstances (i.e. where other forms of ID are given within the data
stream, such as voice), it is merely a network header.

Of course, an interpretation in the reverse is possible, and that is
the radio is part of VK8FAAB's station, and therefore an Advanced
licensee using it must operate according to Foundation restrictions.

In short, it's open to interpretation, but I get the impression that
the spirit of the regulations was being followed, to the best of the
knowledge of the people involved.

I'm not a lawyer, ACMA regulatory person or anyone else qualified to
pass judgement here, just illustrating possible interpretations of
the situation, from an informed lay person's point of view.
