Gday,
With a bit of feedback from VK3GY I found an issue that prevented operators
from Linking and Unlinking VK3RWN ports A & C.
The issue is now fixed so why not give it a go!
This is what the trial is all about.
I hope you're having a greater Christmas.
Cheers
Richard

Subject: [Dstar] Linking trial on VK3RWN
Gday,
Gateway and Reflector Linking on VK3RWN ports A & C has been enable for
operators.
With the release of the updated Dplus Gateway application and the
development of a number of management scripts most of the issues we had with
port linking have now be resolved and operators can now link and unlink to
remote Gateways and Reflectors from RF on ports A & C of VK3RWN. Port B will
remain linked to REF003 B.
The linking and unlinking will be trialed on VK3RWN for a time to debug any
unforeseen problems before it is rolled out to the other WIA D-Star
repeaters.
The VK3RWN repeater system has been configured to send a D-Star message
every 10 minutes containing the currently link status. It will also announce
by voice every 15 minutes whether the port you are on is linked or unlinked.
If a port is linked and there is no RF activity for 15 minutes for port A or
5 minutes for port C then the port will automatically unlink. (These times
may change depending on trial feedback)
I recommend you read the D-Star Repeater Linking Guide at
http://www.dstar.org.au/Australian_D-Star_Repeater_Linking_User_Guide_V1.1.p
df for instructions on D-Star Linking and Unlinking.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Cheers
Richard
