[Dstar] VK3RWN D-Star News

G'day,

 

A new version of the D-Star linking software was loaded on to VK3RWN and
VK3RWW today.

 

The new software allows for the linking of multiple D-Star repeaters on a
single D-Star reflector module port, similar to IRLP or Echolink reflectors.

 

We are running an Australian reflector REF003 C and I have linked both
VK3RWN C and VK3RWW B to the reflector to test the software.

 

Operators with DV Dongles can connect to REF003 C and talk to both VK3RWN C
and VK3RWW B at the same time.

 

User access to the Linking controls on VK3RWN has been turned off while the
new linking software is being tested.

 

On Sunday at 15:00UTC there will be a World Wide test of the D-Star
Reflector system with the linking of a large number of D-Star repeaters from
around the world. This will be the first world wide linking of D-Star
Repeaters on to a single reflector. 

 

The linking will happen on reflector 001 module C, "REF001 C". VK3RWN C will
be linked to this reflector for this first time test. You are welcome to
join in the fun with this first time event via VK3RWN C, though the local
time will be 01:00 Monday morning.

DV Dongle users can connect to "REF001 C" and join in on the fun.
