G'day all,
Regarding the optional GPS SpeakerMic for the IC-92AD, the indication of the orange LED at the top of the mic is either steady to indicate that the GPS receiver is still aquiring enough satellite signals and then it flashes when it has aquired enough satellite signals to determine a postion and start sending data back to the radio. This is detailed in the very basic supplied Icom single sheet instructions.
But I've noticed that there appears to be two different flash rates of this LED. It starts off slow for a while but then late is flashes faster. Does the slow or fast flash rate indicate the received signal strength of the satellite signals? Or does the faster flash rate indicate that it is now receiving signals from more satellites which will mean the positioning accuracy is further increased?
Any ideas??
Cheers,
