G'day All,
There are a bunch of new CHIRP and ICF Files now available on
www.dstar.org.au for Icom D-STAR radios.
Version 17a, released today, is a minor change to Version 17 (released
last week) and which takes into account the revised frequencies for the
Adelaide D-STAR repeaters. For those amateurs who had their radios
programmed at the Ballarat Hamfest on Sunday, they were loaded with
version 17.
There are files available for the IC-2820H and IC-92AD based on the
following Gateways:
VK3RWN B
VK3RWN C
VK4RDS C
VK4RGC B
VK4RGC C
VK5REX B
VK5RWN B
VK5RWN C
VK6RWN B
VK6RWN C
VK8RAD B
VK8RAD C
It should be noted that not all of these repeaters / gateways are
operational at this stage.
There is also a file for the IC-91AD based on VK3RWN C. If anyone would
like to prepare files for any of the other Gateways for the IC-91AD it
is a relatively straight forward and painless process, but you will need
a IC-91AD, CHIRP and the RS-91 programming software and 1799 cable.
As I was generously lent an Icom ID-800H for a few days last week there
are also files available for each of the States / Territories. The
structure of these files is different to the other radios as it is
limited to 99 URCALLs and 99 RPT settings. There is a separate file for
each State / Territory that has D-STAR repeaters. Each of these files
is broken up into banks of 100 memories, with the first block (X01 -
X49) setup for Gateway access through a particular Repeater / Port to
any other Australian D-STAR repeater / port. The middle block of
memories (X50 - X60) is setup for D-STAR Simplex operation and the top
block of memories (X60 - X99) is setup for local operation through any
of the VK D-STAR repeaters. Mem X00 is setup to UNLINK through specific
repeater / port.
For example the ID800_VK4_V17a.icf file is setup to support operation
through VK4RGC C (001 - 100), VK4RGC B (101 - 200), VK4RDS C (201 - 300)
and VK4RBX C (301 - 400). Although there is a lot of memory replication
it allows people to generally stay within a specifc block of 100
memories. In most cases mems 401 - 500 have been setup for 2m FM and
70cm FM repeaters for the respective State / Territory, except for the
VK2 files which have FM repeaters programmed from 301 to 500.
There are State / Territory based ID-800H files for:
VK2RDS, comprising: VK2RDS C, VK2RDS B plus VK1/VK2 2m / 70cm FM
repeaters and simplex.
VK2RWN, comprising: VK2RWN C, VK2RWN B plus VK1/VK2 2m / 70cm FM
repeaters and simplex.
VK3, comprising: VK3RWN C, VK3RWN B, VK3RBA B, VK3RWW B plus VK3 2m /
70cm FM repeaters and simplex.
VK4, comprising: VK4RGC C, VK4RGC B, VK4RDS C and VK4RBX C plus VK4 2m /
70cm FM repeaters.
VK5, comprising: VK5RWN C, VK5RWN B and VK5REX B plus VK5 2m / 70cm FM
repeaters and simplex.
VK6, comprising: VK6RWN C and VK6RWN B plus VK6 2m / 70cm FM repeaters
and simplex..
VK8, comprising: VK8RAD C and VK8RAD B plus VK7/VK8 2m / 70cm FM
repeaters and simplex.
If anyone specifically wants this format to suit an IC-2820H or IC-92AD
let me know and I'll put one together as time permits.
Regards,
