[Dstar] IC-91AD not transmitting while on the charger???!!!

My understanding of the charging issues are that it takes longer to
charge if switched on.

I almost always have mine switched on while charging as charge time has
not been an issue.

The low power is I believe because the supplied charger cannot supply
the current the radio needs and the voltage droops markedly.

Another cause for the output power to reduce is the temperature, the
units heat up quite quickly and uncomfortably, the consequence of having
such a high power density. I think this is the reason the IC92AD has
been made submersible so it can be placed in a bucket of water while in
use to keep it cool but I may stand corrected on this one? Of course
one of the speaker microphones and an external antenna could prove
helpful if contemplating using in this manner because speech under water
tends to sound gargled.
