will you be doing any demos and will you need help with those if so? What are the hours of the event in
UTC?

Subject: [Dstar] Shepparton Hamfest

There will be a D-STAR display table, this Sunday (14 Sep), at the
Shepparton Hamfest.

If you bring along (or purchase on the day) either an Icom IC-92AD or
IC-2820 we will have programming software, cables and configuration
files available to program your radio on the spot, to suit Gateway
operation across either VK3RWN C or VK3RWN B.

The configuration files available for the IC-2820 are based on the
following:
Mem 000 - 049: Access to all Australian DV repeaters via the Gateway.
Mem 050 - 059: 2m and 70cm DV Simplex frequencies.
Mem 060 - 099: Local access to all 2m and 70cm DV repeaters.
Mem 100: Unlink.
Mem 101 - 199: Access to non VK and non US DV repeaters via the Gateway.
Mem 200 - 399: Access to US DV repeaters via the Gateway.
Mem 400 - 499: All Victorian 2m and 70cm FM repeaters and some common FM
Simplex frequencies.

The configuration files for the IC-92AD are similar to the 2820, where
Mems 000 - 399 are configured for Band B (DV operation) and Band A (AM
and FM operation) is setup as:
Mem 000 - 099: AM international Broadcast stations
Mem 100 - 299: All VK1 / VK2 2m and 70cm FM repeaters and some common FM
Simplex frequencies.
Mem 300 - 399: All VK4 2m and 70cm FM repeaters (sorry no memory space
for common FM Simplex freqs).
Mem 400 - 499: All VK3 2m and 70cm FM repeaters and some common FM
Simplex frequencies.
Mem 500 - 599: All VK5 2m and 70cm FM repeaters and some common FM
Simplex frequencies.
Mem 600 - 699: All VK6 2m and 70cm FM repeaters and some common FM
Simplex frequencies.
Mem 700 - 749: All VK7 2m and 70cm FM repeaters and some common FM
Simplex frequencies.
Mem 750 - 799: All VK8 2m and 70cm FM repeaters and some common FM
Simplex frequencies.

The portable D-STAR repeater, VK3RWW B, is planned to be operational
(within the area of the Hamfest) and available for use on the day. You
will need to set your D-STAR radio to the following:

Freq: 438.150 MHz
Offset: -5.4 MHz
URCALL: CQCQCQ
RPT1: VK3RWW B
RPT2: VK3RWW G

Assuming we can get an internet connection on the day then D-STAR
registrations for access to the Gateway will also be processed at the
Hamfest.

More details about the Shepparton Hamfest can be found at:
www.sadarc.org

If you are interested in D-STAR please drop by the table and say G'day.

Regards,

David Tilson, VK3UR
