Frank,
The following may help you.
If you try to use someone elses icf file you will probably create
yourself quite a bit of work as it will overwrite any of your existing
memories, callsign setup, etc.
Attached are 4 CSV files, that are setup for use with an IC-92AD for DV
mode operation in Band B. Band A is used for conventional FM repeaters
/ simplex and not included.
B100-199.csv contains the majority of non VK and non US D-STAR repeaters
(accessed via a Gateway) as at 10 Sep.
B200-299.csv contains (part 1 of 2) the majority of US D-STAR repeaters
(accessed via a Gateway) as at 10 Sep.
B300-399.csv contains (part 2 of 2) the majority of US D-STAR repeaters
(accessed via a Gateway) as at 10 Sep.
You will need to customise each of the files to suit your local system
by replacing the following fields:
Frequency: (replace with the local D-STAR Gateway frequency that you
intend using).
Offset: (replace with your local D-STAR repeater offset (probably either
0.6 for 2m, or 5 for 70cm in the US).
RPT1 Call Sign: (replace with your local D-STAR repeater callsign and
port).
RPT2 Call Sign: (replace with your local D-STAR Gateway port).
B000-099.csv contains access to Australian D-STAR repeaters (accessed
through a Gateway), Simplex channels and Local access to Australian
D-STAR 2m and 70cm repeaters. In this file only replace the entries for
memories 0 - 29 so that you can access any of the VK D-STAR repeaters.
You can then replace any of the entries from 050 - 099 with your local
systems or simplex frequencies.
I use Excel to make all of the replacements (using find / replace) and
then resave the files as .CSV format.
When you have made all of the changes, start the RS92 program and select
the matching Bank B set of memories. Then select File > Import >
filename.csv and that should import the contents into your radio.
Repeat the process by selecting the appropriate bank of memories for the
remaining files.
I find that I can recreate a new set of files like this in about 5
minutes, versus several hours if I try to manually make all the changes
directly in the RS92 program.
Each of the memories has a location description that can be seen if you
enable the M.Name (button 6 on the keypad) feature on the IC92. I also
maintain a spreadsheet, which I print out, that has additional
information and I can use as a cheat sheet to look up the relevant
location, eg: If I want to talk through KR7ST B in Tucson, I just dial
up memory 380 (which displays as TUCSON B) and start talking. The
spreadsheet (currently Version 15) is availabe in the ICF files section
on www.dstar.org.au
If you want some D-STAR ICF files that are setup for Australia you can
also download them from www.dstar.org.au, but as advised you will need
to reconfigure them for your local conditions.
Hope this makes sense... And If you get stuck let me know.
Regards,
David Tilson, VK3UR
