[Dstar] Reflector 003 Access

Hi John,

Thanks for the information it is helpful.

Reflector 3 is open to all VK and other users; no system is being
deliberately blocked. However there appears to be a problem that has
developed in the past few months that we are investigating.

Currently VK2RAG, VK5REX and VK8RAD are having access issues with the
reflector.

Cheers

Richard

Richard,

Sorry Richard but the same I{ address does not hold water.
DV Dongle connected to VK6RWN C, my 2 meter module connected to WS4VA C, and
talking on 1.2GHz to VK2HK all at the same time. Also do not know why I can
be connected to other reflectors on one band and connected to others from
the different RF modules connected to other operators and also at the same
time use my DV Dongle to connect to other gateways and or hams. But when
connecting to REF003 only by just one means you get that message saying
REF003 is unavailable? The IP address is the same by the way on all modules
and DV Dongle. What gives? Why is REF003 a closed repeater function for
anyone using VK8RAD?

Nope, no DV-Dongle connected. When RF connection is tried to REF003 audio
message is received saying Ref is unavailable. And no two connections are
being made at any one time. However, other maybe be able to connect but
certain others are not allowed. This makes REF003 a closed repeater.

Hi,

I've done some more investigation on comments I've received in regards to
access issues to REF003.

So far as I can tell it appears that if a DV-Dongle user and a D-Star
repeater gateway share the same IP address the reflector (and maybe
gateways) may block the D-Star repeater gateway from accessing the
reflector. For example VK8HF uses a DV-Dongle from the same IP address as
the VK8RAD Gateway.

Cheers

Richard
