Not too keen on the 4 second message myself. When it comes up and you 
wait for it to finish, your linked connection qso op wonders where you 
went and a new qso may start up in the meantime. Also the fact it will 
disrupt a qso with collision as well as the above problem.

One solution to satisfy all concerned, may be to borrow from the linking 
timeout script that detects DV activity; to enable the 4 second message 
to be delayed, until a certain amount of of no activity has occurred on 
the repeater.

For newcomers to D-Star there are plenty of ¨advisor's¨ out there to let 
them know this pause requirement between overs.
