Hello,
The D-Star repeaters in the greater Sydney area, VK2RDS & VK2RWN have had
their Gateways installed and are currently being commissioned and tested on
the International D-Star network.
The Gateways will be set to different configurations for testing over the
next few days. They may also be offline on occasions until commissioning and
testing is completed.
Sydney D-Star operators wishing to register for Gateway access can go to
http://www.dstar.org.au/registration.htm
The general guide for choosing which D-Star Gateway to register on is that
you register on the D-Star repeater that is closest to your home QTH.
For information on D-Star and how to configure your radio visit
www.dstar.org.au <http://www.dstar.org.au/> or ask for help on air as there
is normally someone listening that is willing to lend a hand.
Thanks for the fantastic efforts and hard work put in by the Illawarra
Amateur Radio Society VK2RDS D-Star team and the Manly-Warringah Radio
Society VK2RWN D-Star team. The people of these teams are to be
congratulated for making these projects a success. Installing a full D-Star
repeater system is a huge job that requires a dedicated team of people to
succeed.
Special thanks to Rob VK2MT and Neil VK2VNJ from the Illawarra Amateur Radio
Society, and Bruce VK2ZZM And Simon VK2TMS from the Manly-Warringah Radio
Society for the hard work and support that they continue to provide to
Amateur Radio and D-Star.
Also thank you to Icom, the WIA and the Illawarra Amateur Radio Society and
the Manly-Warringah Radio Society for their support and sponsorship of
D-Star.
Enjoy the fun of D-Star.
Cheers
Richard
National D-Star Coordinator.
