Hi All,
An update on the VK2RDS D-Star repeater system at Maddens Plains, located
between Wollongong & Sydney.

The 70cm Port B repeater has been changed to it's (hopefully) final
frequency of 439.8625MHz transmit with a -5Mhz receive offset of
434.8625MHz. Please change any listings or radio memories to suit.

The saga relating to the frequency allocation of this repeater has now
extended over 12 months (& as Forest Gump said, "that's all I have to say
about that").

The internet connectivity to the VK2RDS Gateway is presently down while
Richard (VK3JFK), Neil (VK2VNJ) & myself are working on a new modem &
router. The previous system basically worked but behaved rather strangely
when doing Gateway Linking & also occasionally suffered from audio "jitter".

By the way for those interested, the Avalan remote internet linking system
has been working very well, definitely recommended if your site does not
have direct internet connectivity.

Lastly, work is progressing on installing an additional antenna to handle
the 23cm DD system which is presently not on the air. All other VK2RDS
repeater systems are working fine.

Rob - VK2MT
