Hi Doug,
Perhaps you are right, however, this issue has been going on for a long
time, and I would have thought the smart thing to do would have been to try
a different router for starters. This has not been done as far as I am
aware.
I am quite familiar with what goes on at that particular site and I can
assure you that looking after the Dstar repeater is not a priority at all.
The 23cm repeaters have been sitting idle for 6 months for want of an
antenna, the router issue is ongoing since the initial commissioning of the
repeater (about 6 months ago)
Never mind the people who have invested (some quite a bit) in DSTAR gear. I
would have thought Icom too would be more interested in ensuring that the
equipment they have donated is actually put to use in a timely manner.
It is a fact that none of the repeaters intended for the Sydney area are
fully operational, nor have they ever been after more than 12months.
Regards
Horst, VK2HL

Horst,
I disagree. It's good to be updated on what progress is being made. In this
case no news definitely is not good news.
The fact that the team who look after VK2RWN are still diagnosing and trying
to fix the router means that people who are wondering what's going on are
kept informed. While this may not be of interest to you, it could well be
just the information that others who are subscribed to this list are looking
for.

The VK2RWN D-Star admin team of the Manly-Warringah Radio Society is also
having problems with their D-Star router. You may have noticed that VK2RWN
looses its connections to the International D-Star Network on an
intermittent basis. This is due to the router locking up. Work is under way
to solve this."
Richard,
This has been going on for months... It is NOT news. No "update" is
necessary unless it is fixed.
Any update on when we can expect this repeater to be FULLY operational? I.e.
dongle access, dashboard, maybe, dare I say it, even the 23cm repeater?
