The Buninyong D-STAR repeater - was/is it using the same antenna system as the 70cm repeater on the same site? I am unsure, but we really should be comparing apples with apples - so to speak - can anyone shed some light on this?

Oh, one more comment. I've worked VK3RBA-B (Mt Buninyong - Ballarat) from Hamilton (Western Vic) on many occasions when the FM repeater on the same band wasn't achievable. And the fact that the
temporary repeater on Mt Wombat VK3RWW-B has been working so well whilst it's been up there, is a great example of how well D-Star repeaters can work. I've been able to hear VK3RWW-B direct from home at Geelong whereas I could rarely or never hear the 70cmFM repeater. This stuff is good for D-Star and has got to be strongly promoted. It's another seller for D-Star.

  Cheers,
