MessageOK, thanks for that, in that case it appears that it is possible that D-STAR repeaters have better range. My experience with D-STAR simplex matches this - when analogue (FM) was used over a difficult signal path, comms were unusable between a mate and myself - yet when we went to D-STAR, we had good workable comms.

Yes Matt, the analogue and D-STAR repeaters share the same antenna system. The only difference between transmitters is that the analogue FM repeater has a power output of approx 10W and the D-STAR repeater is approx 25W.
