Likewise, my hat's off to the people who put in
the time and make the effort to get the D-STAR projects up and running.

Well said Rob. I've been getting somewhat
annoyed at the snide remarks going on here, but
not being active in building the repeaters, I bit
my tongue. Sure, the D-STAR network isn't
perfect, but this is a relatively new system, and
a lot of the quirks are not the fault of the
people implementing the D-STAR repeaters and
gateways, but the nature of the underlying
infrastructure. These kinks will be sorted in
time. Besides, I find it exciting to be around
in the early days of a mode, where the paint is
wet, everyone's still learning, and something occasionally breaks. :D

Rob, you and your fellow repeater builders, take
a bow. Without you guys, we'd all still be using
D-STAR simplex and DV Dongles.

I've known Richard for the better part of 20
years. While there are times we might not have
agreed on things, when it came to D-STAR, I've
found him to be courteous, helpful and ready with
a suggestion or two to make things run more smoothly.

Here here.
