[Dstar] Repeater Linking?

You may have noticed recently that there has been some heated 
discussions about the availability of dstar repeaters and linking.

It raises the question on dsl connections on remote sites.  I know that 
some use 3G/GPRS but this too is limiting.

I wonder what the cost of the dstar's 10Ghz links are compared to a full 
time 3G link.  In melbourne,  I dont think that LOS between
Mt Dandenong, Macedon, Ballarat,, proposed MDRC site and even geelong is 
out of reach of 10GHz. and then all those sites could
share the one DSL line that is most suitable?????
