[Dstar] Hamfest announcements

Wenlock, You did not mention where you heard the announcement.

If it was on a dstar (repeater) transmission then a verbal callsign is
not required, as it is transmitted legally in the mycall header there
for anyone to see.

I can qso all day on dstar, and not say my callsign once if I so wish, 
legally.

Of course, if you heard it on a analogue transmission, then you have a 
point.
