Horst,
The simplest ways to set up your ID1 for DD is listed below.
Note that the Digital Data repeater could be considered a WiFi Access Point.
It does not contain any data on the Gateway itself. But you can test your
connection to the DD repeater by pinging 10.0.0.1
The WIA DD intranet is not yet available as we are waiting on regulatory
advice on what we are able to provide while over DD while not being
considered an ISP. The Telecommunications regulations are very complex and
we are breaking new ground in the area of amateur radio and data access
capabilities in Australia. It is proving to be much harder than originally
though to get this advice.
Here is an example of how to configure two stations to communicate with each
other over D-Star DD.
You want to transfer data from VK3RWN A to VK3RWW A use the following
settings.
Station 1
Allocated IP Address: 10.203.188.199
DNS: 10.0.0.1
Gateway: 10.0.0.1
URL: vk3ksd-id1-data.dstar.local
MYCALL: VK3RWN
RPT1: VK3RWN A
RPT2: VK3RWN G
MYCALL: VK3KSD D
Station 2
Allocated IP Address: 10.167.46.44
URL: vk3jfk-dvdongle.dstar.local
DNS: 10.0.0.1
Gateway: 10.0.0.1
MYCALL: VK3RWW
RPT1: VK3RWW A
RPT2: VK3RWW G
MYCALL: VK3JFK D
If VK3KSD D wants to view VK3JFK D intranet web page VK3KSD D would enter
the following into the web browsers URL:
http://10.167.46.44 or http:// vk3jfk-dvdongle.dstar.local
If VK3JFK D had a shared drive that VK3KSD D had rights to and wanted to
access VK3KSD D would enter the following in XP file manager:
\\10.167.46.44\Shared-Drive-Name or \\ vk3jfk-dvdongle.dstar.local\
Shared-Drive-Name
These settings would also apply to VK6 only difference being URCALL= VK6RWN,
RPT1=VK6RWN A RPT2=VK6RWN G, MYCALL=VK6ABC etc.
A kind reminder; - Remember that it's the operators responsibility to ensure
that data transfers and intranet information on DD is kept within the
Amateur LCD and other government regulations. The ACMA may be randomly
checking on what we are using DD for.
Cheers
Richard
