Thanks for the update Richard, VK4RBX is a great repeater for me
to access and I can use the 92AD (onboard jetstream antenna) direct here
from 40km away.
However there is hardly any activity on VK4RBX or VK4RWN, other than
myself. I would suggest disabling DV Dongle access to REF023 for a
month, to let the Polish find another playground and keep the QRV clear
of un-intelligible chatter, that is going to be sure to cause listeners
to turn off.
I take it that you remote admin VK4RBX and appreciate that you
re-enabled dplus linking, whereas it had been user disabled for a period.
The auto script time-out seems a bit short on vk4rbx and especially vk4rwn.
A little longer would be much appreciated, as you know a period of
listening is required on any new re-links before talking, or in net
situations.
It is a shame we cannot seem to bring the whole of VK together for the
EMDRC net, on a national linkup at that time.
This net is valuable, and if conducted with a question > answer session
included, this would be most beneficial to dstar newcomers, and make
them feel part of something here in VK, instead of feeling segregated
and lost.
The key word here is interest, and thatś what we need to make d-star,
i.e: Interesting, as a group effort.
The art of setting up radio memory/settings program, made easy for these
new operators and demonstration of linking and unlinking urcall
transmissions etc, will bring these operators out of the deep end,
and into the know. Reference to the;
http://www.dstar.org.au/
website, is great for these operators wanting to set up their radio´s
with icf files available and the like.
A small (on you way to work) sked every morning on the local dstar
repeaters, and with those that are linked, would be great for D-Star
here in VK, and many would have seen this style of daily get together on
FM repeaters.
