Subject: [Dstar] New VK3RNP-B repeater in the Geelong area

  G'day all on the list,

I've been working on establishing a 70cm D-Star repeater for some months now. My intent is to provide better coverage to the Geelong area, learn more about D-Star repeaters & the D-Star network and to foster more D-Star interest locally.

Once the construction, tuning and configuring of the hardware has been completed, I would welcome anyone to try it out and assist with any testing.

You will need the following details:

  RPT1: VK3RNP-B
RPT2: VK3RNP-G (not required initially as establishment of the gateway may be a few months away)
  Repeater TX: 438.1750
  Repeater RX: 432.7750
  Offset: -5.4

If everything goes to plan, I hope to have this repeater on-air by next weekend. There will be a period of antenna experimenting, so the coverage may vary at times. Once it's up an running, I will post a further message on this list to advise of its status. My QRZ page and the VK-Logger repeater listing for this will also be updated as required. As noted above, the establishment of the gateway may be a few months away.

As this repeater project is owned & operated by me, please direct all complaints and negative feedback to me and not to any club, organisation, group or other individuals. I'm on a steep learning curve with this project, so please be patient.

  That's about it for now.

  Cheers,

  Nik Presser
