Tony,

Firstly, let me state that I do appreciate the work being done and I am
somewhat aware of the complexities it involves.

Let's move on from the 4 second message, most people think it is disruptive
and unnecessary (as you have stated yourself, it tends to get ignored
anyway).
So have it your way. It won't be long before all the "controllers" can have
the whole network to themselves without any pesky users complaining.

As for the 23cm repeaters, it was my understanding that the WIA (of which I
have been a continuos member since 1974), awarded the hosting of the
(Icom)donated repeaters to clubs which were prepared to install, maintain
and provide the necessary infrastructure, and do so in a timely manner.
You judge for yourself whether that has happened. No use bleating about how
much work (or money) it takes, the hosting clubs' made the choice in full
knowledge of what was required.
