Hi Will,
Yep, you are right. The problem that was shown on the YouTube video was 
indeed caused by low level broadband transmitter noise. While the 
receive cavities have a notch on the transmit frequency, the transmit 
cavities are plain old band pass ones. At the moment, the problem is 
"fixed" through the use of two antennas vertically separated. 
Eventually, as funds permit I would like to get a nice pass-notch 
duplexer for VK5REX B.
